A Love Letter to Mexican Cuisine

Perro is chef Matt Wilden's intimate neighbourhood restaurant tucked into a tiny 12-cover space in Kings Heath. After years mastering wood-fired cooking at the legendary Poli pizzeria, Matt fell deeply in love with Mexican cuisine's complexity and depth.

This isn't traditional Mexican food — it's built on research and reverence for Mexican culinary traditions, using British produce and seasonal ingredients. The food evolves and learns, just like the culture that inspired it.

By day, Perro serves grab-and-go deli sandos and Vietnamese iced coffee. As night falls, the space transforms into an intimate, low-lit restaurant serving Mexican-influenced small plates. On Friday and Saturday nights, it becomes a late-night cocktail bar with Katie Rouse's award-winning drinks.
